Training - 28th March
#First run for a while and made one lap, my normal 5K although it tracked on FitBit as just shy of 5K for some reason.
The last km was a bit of trouble for me, but I managed a reasonable pace until then

So @Fitbit seemed to be having trouble syncing my runs (although it did manage to sync my stats for some reason)
A full uninstall, data/cache clear and reinstall seems to have fixed that.
Did a run yesterday and made it just about 5K (4.98km actually) and dropped to a walk a few times en route. However, went my old hill climb route and made the hill part without stopping.
I’m interleaving my runs with FitBit Coach now to try to slim down a bit. FBC is actually harder than it seems….
Forgot to log this yesterday. Ran 4.43km yesterday at average pace of 5:49/km. Higher than normal, but caused me to drop to walk a few times.
Ran a different route - one which was nearly a 5km (the loop itself is 4.12 km) – and actually broke my record on that, doing the 4.12km loop in 22:34.
Just shy of 5K today. :(
1 big lap (~1.8km) and two small laps (~0.7km each) of my local park. 3.67 km
Forgot to log this yesterday
5.05km today. And generally a bit faster, although I was pretty tired to begin with..
Just shy of 5k today, but most of it closer to 6min/km than the others
Two runs today, one 2.30km and one 3.25km
Slacked off a bit for a while, but made another 5km run today. Average pace 6:26min/km.
Another 5km run – slightly faster than yesterday though
I think I’ve found a rhythm in my running now. It’s a slower pace than I used to have (6:45min/km) but I can maintain it.
Decided to try doing a slower pace today – and made it around 4km without dropping to a walk. This was 1.5 laps around my local park. Next one will be two laps (which should also take me to 5km)
First run of the new year. Only 3.22km today, but give it time… .^_^
A happy new year to the readers still following this blog. I’ve been slacking off posting for a while now. Hopefully should rectify that this year.
Will start blogging my attempts at getting back into shape with the intention of retrying going for the Royal Parks Half Marathon.
Current weight, 12st 0lbs.
Yes, running on Christmas Day. A shortish one. It was pretty dead in my local village, with pretty much all the shops closed except for the Fruit + Veg store.
Have a great Christmas Day, everyone ! :)
First time road-running 5km for a while, and did drop to a walk a few times, especially going up the hill.
Average pace 06:28min/km, and Strava says I’m gradually getting faster on this route (which is good)
So I haven’t been posting here much recently so here are some updates.
Been slowing trying to get back into running, have been slacking off WAAAAY too much lately. Tried using Aaptiv (@aaptiv) which is a training fitness app that has trainers talking you through the stuff, there are a few problems with it.
On a separate note, I have bought another attempt at the CKA exam, but this time bought the bundle with the Kubernetes Fundamentals Training from Linux Foundation. Let’s see how different that is to Linux Academy’s training….
One-lap run around my park. Nothing major.
First run for a long while – decided to push and go for the 5k I had been leaving for a long while
Made it in 30mins near enough on the dot. Strava tracking 5.03km in 29.57 with an average pace of 5:57min/km
Easy run today, made it to about 3k
12 minute fitness test today. According to Endomondo, I made 2.16 km.
Intervals run today – I decided to try walking the beginning and end since the target pace was just under 8mins but I struggled to find a good speed, since 8min/km is too fast for my walk pace and too slow for my jog pace
Reset my Endomondo plan to reflect updated pace. Today’s run was a 3.8km run. Got to about 3km then dropped to a walk, but kept a pretty consistent pace until then.
