Forgot to log this yesterday. App tracked 3.1km, Fitbit tracked 4.1km

Training

Final run of the week 1 series. For some reason the app tracked me at just over 1km, but fitbit tracked me at 4km. Probably quirky gps.

Week 1, Day 2 of the C25K today.

Also spotted some pigeons cleaning themselves in a puddle

Back to doing my C25K again and definitely slower. Strava flagged this run as the slowest I’ve done on the route since linking Fitbit to Strava :(

Depressing, but as they say, “When you hit rock bottom, the only way is up”

God, I am pretty damn out of shape :/

Think I need to get back to doing C25K again -_-

Interval Training

#

Decided to try my interval training run on Fitbit. Ended up walking during the recovery jogs instead of jogging.

Training

#

It’s been a while since I did any decent runs, and today being a good sunny day I decided to go for it.

And shocked by how bad I was :(

I was following Fitbit’s workout which was 2x 12 minute jogs separated by a 90 min rest, then a 3 minute run at the end with a cooldown at the end of the workout. I stopped several times during the runs which annoyed me.

Got the two 12 minute runs down but didn’t do the three minute run at the end.

Walking

#

After being out of training for a long while due to illness, I decided to fork out on Fitbit Coach and start using some of their workouts.

Today I decided to go out and try their walking workouts – an audio-driven workout around power walking

Training

#

Redid the last Week 9 run and made it through two intervals and just shy of the third.

Finally finished Week 9. Interval three was a difficult one and my pace went from 5:30min/km to 7:33min/km >_<

Contemplating whether to move onto Week 10 or redo week 9 until I can meet the pace.

Training

#

Tried a different route today. Still sore from the hour run yesterday. This new route turns out to be just under 5k, though I’m not sure it’s right, since my Fitbit seemed to lose communication with my phone so didn’t track the route properly. Guess I’ll try again tomorrow maybe.

Still, I got two achievements on the run which was two PRs on segments on the run (which were tracked properly)

Training

#

Finally did the next run in the 5 to 10 k. Still hurts when I run for an hour, and a tried slightly a different running route. Just over 8k today. Have no idea why the app registered only 5.7k.

Training

#

First run of the 5 to 10K section and it’s a lot harder.

4x 10-minute runs, with only a 1 minute rest in between. 7K measured by the app, 8.8km measured by Fitbit.

Training & C25K Completed

#

Completed ZenLabs C25K and now looking at the 10K trainer. First run of Week 9 (it continues the C25K plan) is a near-hour set of 10 minutes runs O_O

Training

#

First run of the final week and ended up dropping to a walk near the end of the 28 minutes. Disappointed, even though I was slow-jogging and making a pace of about 5:30 min/km on average for the main kms in the middle..

Training

#

Final run of week 7’s set of runs. Next one is week 8 – two 28min runs, then the 5k/30min run.

Training

#

Second day of 25min run. Didn’t manage to run as far as yesterday, but nearly made the 5k

[gallery type=“rectangular” size=“large” ids=“6643,6642,6641”]

Training

#

First long run since my week away. 25 minutes running non stop and my body screamed at me to stop at 4km. Busted through and did one more round, taking it to 5.6 km. Strava logged it as 5.9 km, with moving time of 39:49, with a best km time of 5:24 min/km.

I was using the Spotify running playlist to keep my cadence steady and it showed.

The first and last kilometres were the warm up and cool down walks, hence the skewed time.

Training

#

Attempted to start Week 7 runs (which are 5 min warm up, 20+ min run, 5 min cooldown) – and today fell short by walking at 23 mins of 25 :(

Will try again tomorrow.

Training

#

22 minute non-stop run on a treadmill. Haven’t done this for a while. The app registered 3.2km, my Fitbit registered 4.99km.

Today’s run. Three runs of 5/8/5 mins

Training

#

Forgot to log this from yesterday. This was a 20-minute non-stop run. On a treadmill not so bad.

Just about to do my run for today.

Training

#

Week 5 runs are the first ones which vary the entire week. Today it was 8 min run / 5 min walk, 8 min run / 5 min cooldown.

Did the run early in the morning, and ironically had Morning from Peer Gynt playing ^_^
