Remember my previous post? It’s great seeing this happening - when people don’t care about winning and more about the race and finishing.
I’ve said this before. It’s not about winning (fuck you, Piers Morgan). It’s not about getting first place, or even in the top 10. It’s about participating and completing. I don’t care if it takes me 20 minutes or 20 hours to complete a race. I will be happy to finish. I said this to the guy I helped for a bit in the last few hundred metres at the Royal Parks Half Marathon. “My time doesn’t matter. I’m happy just to finish."
The athlete who captured the essence of the Olympic spirit in a single act of selfless kindness is to be rewarded for her act of sportsmanship.

It isn’t always about winning.
Unless you’re Piers Morgan…

And this isn’t the first time a runner was helped over the finish line. In 1992, Derek Redmond busted his hamstring mid-way and his dad came on to help him over the finish line.
"You win or you lose. Gold is all that matters," he said. His comment didn't go well with some, notably English swimmer Chris Walker-Hebborn, who competed at the 2012 Olympics and in Rio this year.Just can't get excited by Silver & Bronze medals. You win or you lose. Gold is all that matters. #Olympics2016

It turns out that there's an amazing side effect to joining the ranks of the millions now addicted to Pokémon Go: better health.
Fitness tracker Jawbone UP claims that users of its fitness band who also mentioned that they used Pokémon Go logged a whopping 62.5 percent more steps this weekend compared to their steps taken during a normal weekend.

As someone who is a runner, I can confirm this thing is like Ingress – encouraging you to go to new places or making you treat pokestops and gyms as milestones - which is great for interval training. I’m running circles around my local area, stopping by at three different pokestops each loop :)
Currently Level 12 with about 251 pokemon caught, 47 unique ones seen, and 47 active in my bag.
First training for a while (I’ve been seriously slacking :( ) and I gambled against Mother Nature. And lost….

Surprisingly a couple of these made me laugh.
#5 you’ll get penis envy. Actually, it’s not a good thing - especially if you forget to wear tight pants. Trying to run around the park with your little friend trying his darnedest to distract you is definitely not fun. Funny, yes. Uncomfortable? Damned so.
#6 you will become a running bore - guilty.
#10 you will want to do another one - yes, but not yet. The atmosphere when I ran the RPHM was electric. I want to experience that again, but not yet.
Completed mission “Interval Training” #zombiesrun
6 intervals , 15/60 split with 10 min warmup run. Nice run, but hit wall at 5th interval.
Interestingly, just checked my stats (have to manually connect this workout with my Endomondo training plan) and found that I hit 1km in 05:12 at peak, and 06:58 at lowest

Still out of practise. This 5k involved me dropping to a walk a few times, and was an early morning run due to me doing lates this week.

A good starting point to deciding if you indulge in a McDs, how much time you’ll need to spend burning it off..
You’re hungry, and you’re in a hurry – so you grab a burger, a taco, or a burrito. But before you take a bite, think about it: You’ll need to exercise a lot to burn off those calories. Even the options that seem light – the smaller burger, the breakfast sandwich, the wrap – are more fattening than you might think. So how much havoc can a fast food meal wreak on your otherwise healthy diet? We’ve crunched the numbers, compiled the calorie counts, and even created a simple interactive calculator so you find out exactly how much exercise it would take for you to work off each meal. Here’s to making healthy choices!

Am I the only one who is the slightest bit suspicious by this convenient “heart attack” - just a couple of months after he resigned and soon after the scandal really took hold?

Haven’t done much posting and not much running recently, weather being cold so when I finally do run, it’s usually a relatively short distance. Will need to re-work on that :/
I’ve spent a long time using Nike+, their Fuel Band and then their GPS Sportswatch, but now, it’s time to end that relationship.
I’ve recently had immense trouble connecting to their servers via their app and uninstalling, reinstalling even clearing the cache doesn’t help. Tethering my phone and accessing the site itself from my laptop gave me the same error, even on Incognito/Private mode.
Nike and Three (my MNO) bounced me back and worth between each other – both blaming the other. Nike saying it was an MNO problem, and Three saying it was Nike’s servers, and that they were able to replicate my issue on multiple devices on different networks. Neither accepting responsibility.
Since Nike+ is the only fitness activity tracking site having this problem (Fitbit, for example, does not have any issues), I am now ditching using Nike+.
In other news, I got this badge from Fitbit – the Africa Badge, for walking 8,046 km - the length of Africa.
I reached a lifetime climb of 28,000 floors and earned the Astronaut badge today with Fitbit! www.fitbit.com/user/2359… #Fitstats
